Embracing the Community Spirit

Cybalink Solutions has always contributed to great causes like True Manila, but this year, we took our commitment further by launching Community Ethos Month. Initially planned for just one month, enthusiastic participation and heartfelt contributions from our employees extended the campaign to three incredible months, beginning in June 2019.

Kim Lombardi, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Cybalink Solutions, has been the driving force behind this community spirit. Known for her profound sense of social responsibility towards the Philippines, Kim inspires everyone at Cybalink Solutions to actively contribute and make a meaningful difference.

Blood Donation Drive with the Philippine Red Cross

Our first community initiative was a blood donation drive on July 11, 2019, organised by Cybalink’s Human Resources Team in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross. Over 30 volunteer staff participated, showcasing the spirit of giving that defines our community ethos.

Blood donation might seem routine in many parts of the world, but in the Philippines, every drop of blood truly counts. The generosity of donors not only saves lives but is a profound act of selflessness that deserves recognition.

The True Manila Experience with North Construction

Our next activity involved taking a team of six to experience True Manila, led by Edwin Nombré. Edwin guided us through the streets of San Andres Bukid, highlighting the severe socioeconomic disparities within his community. Edwin himself chose to remain in San Andres to support and uplift his community, helping thousands of children annually through education and feeding programs.

During the visit, our team, joined by North Construction, fed over 300 children, distributed rice and school supplies, and witnessed firsthand the immense need and the remarkable impact of community support.

An Afternoon with the Children of Payatas Kids Church

Children remain at the heart of our outreach programs, and our visit to Payatas Kids Church (PKC) was a vivid reminder of this. PKC serves over 200 children weekly, providing them with spiritual and emotional nourishment, education, and a sense of belonging.

On August 17, Cybalink employees visited PKC, bringing donations of books, clothing, food, and more. The afternoon was filled with prayers, music, games, and laughter, profoundly impacting both the children and our team members.

Our Reflections

Reflecting on our experiences, it becomes clear that acknowledging poverty is not enough—we must actively seek ways to alleviate it. Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility has deepened through these activities, and we look forward to continuously supporting meaningful causes.
